Default AEM V2/CAI install difficulties?

Hey guys, just got a quick question I wanted to ask. Sorry if this has already been asked, I did search but found no info on it. So here's the catch: I've read from a few sources that the AEM v2 and CAI intake system is slightly more difficult to install than the usual intake system because it requires you to cut some plastic during the installation. While most people stated that the install wasn't difficult at all, a few have said they needed to make some adjustments themselves which were not part of the instruction to get these systems to fit right. So for anyone who has or have had these systems, could you give some input and your thoughts on this? I'm planning to buy one and am just curious about this, maybe it'll be something to watch out for. As of prior experiences with intake systems, I've installed a Active Autowerks CAI in a BMW E36 M3 and done some work on a Stillen system on my friends G35, so I do have some prior experiences, just not any that go into the bumper/wheel well. So thanks for reading the post and any feedback is appreciated!

**Also, I read somewhere that this is only for the 06-09 models? Not sure if that's the case.

You need to make a round cut about the size of a softball in the undertray. A steak knife is more than sufficient, some people have used a dremel. Jack up the passenger side, line up intake and slice. Start small, then cut away. There's a DIY here somewhere.

A clean install is super easy if you have a dremel tool. It'll cut the plastic like a hot knife through butter. If you do a butcher job you could have this inside in 20minutes.

You don't need to take the bumper or the whole undertray off. Just need to take the passenger wheel. I didn't even jack up the car...I just rolled the car on a piece of wood and had enough space. Unclip parts of the passenger wheel well, pull it for clearance to get pipe filter and mounting bolt in, and start shaving away the plastic until everything fits back together.
