Default AEM V2 cai or snorkel mod to standard box

What's people's opinions on either the AEM V2 or a snorkel added to the standard intake box? What's better power wise, functionality, people's personal experiences with one or both, ect. Thanks guys

Neither.

K&N FIPK + a radiator shroud if you have the extra funds.

Depends on who you ask. I have a Fujita F5 and I really like it. Many seem to like the K&N FIPK. Intakes are one-size-fits-all.

Power-wise, all intakes are negligible. A CAI that feeds from the fender can be more risky in terms of hydrolock but I haven't had problems and it definitely rains a lot here in Houston. That said, people have hydrolocked with CAI's.

It's really your call to make. Don't overlook the countless existing CAI threads. They're an extremely common topic.

Okay so having the radiator shroud will only cool the radiator more not actually imcrease the performance of having the k&n fipk air intake fitted?

I've got a J's kevlar snorkel conntected to the oem air box, which I really like. It doesn't really add hp, but the car drives much more consistently throughout the day in warm weather conditions, so it benefits from a lot less heat soak issues compared to just the oem airbox on it's own. I prefer to keep the oem air filter and box and intake arm, so this works well for me. I've driven through some big rain storms without a drop of water in the air box, it does pick up a lot more dust and sand though but it is well protected.

I have an AEM V2. Sounds good, makes a bit of power. Although it doesn't look as good, how often do I look at my engine bay? I've never had a problem with hydrolock. Miami during the spring, it downpours every day. Just don't go blasting through puddles and you'll be good.

Yeah I hear hydro locking your motor is a pretty hard thing to actually do, not overly fussed on looks, yeah stock box and snorkel would probably look best but I'm more after best performance from an intake
