Default air fuel sensor location

on my 01 ap1 i was installing a 02 senor for an ari fuel gauge and i tried to eye ball it when i was under there looking and i made a mistake and the bung is not where i want it to be at all. its pretty much rubbing hardcore against the trans mount. not what i want at all. what im getting to is there isnt much room up front from the stock o2 housing. now will i get a inaccurate reading if i put hte air/fuel sensor towards the back of the test pipe where i have alot more room? i need to know asap. and if i do would my readings change? like what would be rich and lean. this is installed on a invida 70mm test pipe. thanks

Using an O2 sensor and those Air/Fuel LED gauges are useless.

But, search google for AFR there's a lot of data that'd be helpful to bring you up to speed.

yep, hopefully he got a wideband O2 sensor gauge kit. Like the LC1 innovate or the AEM gauge.

dancing LED's are useless and distracting.

yes i have a wideband 02. AEM UEGO. part # 30-4100. i know the 70 dollar ones at pepboys are a light show that doesnt do anything. but thats not that point.

ams mike - will it read differently at the back half of the test pipe rather then the front? the front is kind of a tight spot. i already screwed up once as far as postions but that was totally my fault. bad call. im going to get it fixed tomorrow. im gonna try to get it in the front and i found some room up in there. thanks.

The closer the better; however since our test pipe is pretty short, putting it down 7 inches isnt going to make much of a difference (if any)
