air fuel sensor location
Am I the only one who sees the 35whp increase mid-band?
As Gernby mentioned, the VAFC is nearly useless for adding fuel. At least more than a couple of percent.
As for the wideband placement, the closer to the front the better, if you are using it to control anything. If it's just for indication, put it wherever is convenient.
For closed-loop applications I put it in place of the OEM sensor or upstream of it. There is some room up there but you have to remove the header to weld in the bung.
If you put it in a test pipe, do NOT put it in the stock secondary O2 location if it has the mechanical "fix" on it (extra 2" or so extension).

i didnt see that huge increase of about 35whp. holy crap haha. i was viewing it on my phone at the time. i have my wideband at the front of the test pipe as fast as i can get it up there to read my air fuel ratio so i can tune from there. i know up top i am rich so i will adjust that accrdingly. all of my stock 02s are in there right place and my bung is real close to the header as i said.
I'm not seeing the 35 whp gain, but there was definitely about a 20 whp gain near the VTEC engagement point. Then the ~10 whp gain near redline was nice. Honestly, the best thing about the tuning was that it really extended the power range quite a bit, and the delivery was so smooth.
There were not mods other than tuning for the before / after runs, and they were done within an hour of each other on the same dyno.

3rd gear WOT again. just to get another reading. input please. now im hearing from s2000junky that 12.8-13.2 is fine as far as tuning goes? but i see gernby running 13.8 almost straight across the board. of his mph.

I was told to run a richer mixture too for safety, but I figured I would throw caution to the wind. I also live in an area that has 93 octane at every gas station, and use spark plugs that are 1 step colder than stock.
On a side note, here are the AFR's from my nearly stock '08 compared to my brother's completely stock '06. Note that these are Hondata's "AF Corr" values from the FlashPro's datalog of the stock wideband O2.

yeah i have 03 at every gas station as well. i only put in sunoco 93 ultra. and they are running 14.0 on afr? isnt that pretty lean? i wouldnt mind going one step colder only because i do let my car warm up almsot everytime before i go anywhere.
Stock AP2's just seem to run lean. I was shocked to see it!
When you say you let your car warm up befroe you go anywhere, do you mean that you let it IDLE until it warms up? If so, that's a big NO-NO! Idling is not good for an engine, and should be kept to a minimum. It's better to just let it warm up normally as you drive it.
