Default Another Intake Thread....BUT!

I want to help others on here too...so give me a chance before you bash me for posting this...
I have been doing my reasearch, been looking around the site for months literally looking for an intake less $400 or so, i don't want to spend too much on it. I been looking at different intake reviews... came to this conclusion that i want a Short Ram Intake and im leaning towards K&N FIPK V2...i know most of you have AEM but i don't even want to think about hydrolocking the car for a sec...
I have looked at Comptech and it looks like there is fitment issues with some of them...
so i was wondering what other short ram intake can i get for less then $400, i want to make power, and maybe get some noise out of it...help me out...if you have a FIPK or not out of this world priced intake please let me know if you like or not...i know most people love the FIPK...

my plan for the FIPK was to cover the pipe with heat shield rap to get extra cold air...(just an idea!!)?

* and to some of you guys that have helped me out in the past and to say a little thanks for all your help....whatever intake i get, i promise, to take the car for couple of Dyno runs (never done a dyno run in my life) and post the result here...to help other people...

please throw in any good ideas you have... thanks

I'd go with the FIPK. Not only is it CARB legal it also gives a little oomph. I've had 4 different intakes and of the 4 the FIPK performs the best.

J's hands down.....lol

for $400 and under I would say the FIPK as well. Either that for just get a shop to make you one. I had one made from left over intakes from older cars a while back. Mine cost $20 for a filter and some new clamps and $20 for the welds and cutting the pipe I had and it was exactly the same as the FIPK, just a different color..lol

good luck

K&N FIPK! I have it and I love the little ooomph that it gives you. Price wise... this is the best bang for your buck.

You won't be disappointed by getting the FIPK...the sound alone is worth the cost. As for gains...you aren't going to feel anything huge, but it has been dynoed to make a little extra power. It can be had brand new for $220+/-, which as cheap as you are going to find a non-custom/homemade setup.
