FIPK for the win. I've seen some dynos that show up to a 9 hp gain on these. I purchased mine a few years back and I would say it is one of the best bang for the buck mods, relative to price.

This w/ a tp, and single exhaust helped me hit 217.3 hp on a DD on my AP1.

FIPK .. IMO The sound is great... It is better then Stock .. it IS lighter then stock .. Wayy under 400 so u have extra money to do something else with it... Like Buy a 70mm TB .. got mine from SOS for 200 Shipped with a new gasket after the core exchange ... You can probably get a FIPK and SOS BB TB for 400 if you find the right deal for the COMPLETE Intake solution .. WIthout having to worry about Cold air intake hydrolocking issues and Expensive ITB Tuning issues...

K&N IS an extremely reputable brand.. they know what they are doing and mass produce all of their intakes which is why they are cheap and actually work.. They know by making a 300$ intake that works theyll make their money back by mass quantity of sales .. where as J's Racing will make their money back by selling only a few intakes to ballers with money =)

Another vote for the FIPK here. I have it along with the Coastal Metals engine bay accessory, link:

I cut the plastic piece on the left side that forces more air through the radiator. So with this, it now gets a fair amount of cool air directly to the intake.

and like others have said, the sound alone is worth getting the FIPK

it doesn't loose power, read the PRM CAI thread. Most intakes in this price wont get any great gains that you will notice so your buying it for the sound really. And dont believe that the K & N heat shield completely protects you from heatsoak as people have posted in the intake thread that they have suffered from heat soak on K and N intake aswell. If I were to buy an short ram intake again I would probaly go with comptech, but its a bit pricier

Hydrolocking can happen but it's overstated as a concern. We get real rain here in Houston and hydrolocking isn't an issue as long as you plug the fender hole or use an umbrella and drive with some common sense.

Intakes aren't the way to go if that's the case.
