Default Anyone can help

Hi Im new to this form and i need help picking a exhaust and header. I bought my s2000 last year and since then have been wondering what type of exhaust to buy i know almost ever brand out but i cant pick ...I was looking at the js Racing-toda or mugen but open to others that arent ricer i hate those 10' tips.... id rather keep dual pipe too... but mainly im looking for power improvement... now for the headers i really like the amuse one but again open for other options.... I have alot of knowage towards cars and engines being a engineer in all but i dont want to just buy+buy and not get any numbers...im not a s2k noob but i just need past exp and recommendations so i dont drop 2gs for nothing....my family owns a pro auto shop in NY and we have dyno so i could see the hp in the end...ive only had one other s2k on the dyno but it had a comptec so i coudnt compair specs....

Exhaust is mainly for aesthetics and sound...a header should free up some ponies. I can't help you with what exhaust to get because I myself don't know what I want, but goodluck

if your talking about buying buying a j's header, or mugen parts then you obviously have money to spend.. and from one engineer to another.. dont waste $2k+ on bolt on parts... Forced induction is the way to go

you will gain minimal horsepower and not be satisfied.. ive been there.. buy something like BERK header if you go supercharger and get a 70mm single exhaust with a tp..

Berk Header is one of the best value header out there for our cars.. it could be possible j's and amuse and mugen make 1 or 2 more hp .. but IMO its not worth the extra 700$ Just dont go with some cheap shit you find on ebay for 100 bucks shipped

and like IHoP said exhaust is for looks and sound unless your FI and have extra volume you need to get out quick..

My grammer/sentence structure may not be the best, but from one college graduate to another, what kind of engineer are you? That was hard to keep reading.

On that note, I have a t1r response header, berk hfc, and ultimate racing dual exhaust. I love it.

that's not entirely true....but if the car is stock it's not going to make a whole lot of difference until other pieces go on.

if performance is your objective you will gain much more from a greddy e-manage ultimate or AEM EMS unit and tuning then any exhaust...cheaper too than the exhausts you are considering.

something to consider.

If you want an improvement in performance, buy the lightest header and exhaust you can find. Shedding 50+ pounds will help you more than a performance gain from the header or exhaust design.

For the $ spent to get maybe a 2hp performance gain in the midrange and 5 or 6 hp at the top isn't worth it but there are some great sounding ones out there.

If you want more power, boost it.
