i have ordered twice from him small stuff and never had a problem. i have even heard of him doing hard top group buys and bringing them to meets and installing for the customer.

i always got the feeling though he is a small one man operation and that may explain the slowness in getting back to people.

not an excuse, just an observation.

hopefully he will come thru for you.

that'd be fair enough if parts weren't in stock, but a simple email stating "parts not in stock, XXX day/week delay" would be appreciated.
3 seconds to reply to an email inst difficult.
So call him.........

Not being proactive about your order and take 3 seconds to dial some numbers doesn't exactly help things either does it?

I've ordered multiple items and never had a problem. No communication beyond the initial automated things. And the one time I did have a concern I called and had it answered immediately.

It doesn't actually take 3 seconds. I'm not in USA and I don't have a land line.

nearest place to get a calling card is about a 15min drive and then I'd need to find a payphone, which is basically non existent in AUS. and probably in the middle of the night as I'm in a different timezone.
its hassle and money I shouldn't have to expend...

Most folks will struggle to dial an international number. The OP looks like he's from Australia.

I made a very significant order with Jeff awhile back earlier in the start of the year, took about 4 months from order to final delivery in multiple shipments to me in Australia. I sweated out a bit at times, I no doubt made numerous calls in the wee hours of the mornings to get him either when he's just started work or about to finish his day. I give him credit for going out of his way for me at different stages of the order to completion process. There were a few mistakes he never addressed even though he promised to (in the end I solved them myself) but overall he delivered. 99% arrived in perfect condition over an extended period of time, although it's very far from ideal but that will do for me. At least I got everything I ordered. I'm an easy customer.

I agree with the majority of people that have dealt with him. Yes, Jeff is a nice guy overall. Don't worry about emails or sending countless of them expecting a reply, because he simply does not have the time for it. Hardtopguy.com is his side business and a one man show indeed, his day job is managing the parts department at Cleveland Acura.

If you really want an update, you need to pickup the phone and call him. Either try first thing in the morning (Ohio time) or before closing time, there are certain days where he leaves work early, you'll really need to try your luck there. Which means for our Australian friend, it means doing a call at 0100-0200 GMT+10 in the wee hours of the morning.

Lower your set expectations, have alot alot of patience. Because it's the only way you'll get through it.

on my Dec 2009 order it was a major pita dealing with him. Got him on the phone several times only to be given b.s. lines meant to waste my time until he could get the parts to shipped. On one phone conversation after many weeks of delays I was told that the parts were "shipped out a week ago". I proceeded to take my car apart expecting them to arrive within 2 days as we aren't very far apart. After having my car torn apart for 3 weeks and no sign of the parts I cancelled the order and requested a refund from my credit card company. I emailed him a half dozen times, I spoke with him on the phone about 4 times, I faxed him, you name it, and nothing. He never had the decency to reply to any inquiry made to him. He promised to call me back and never did. My card got charged the first day of the order and after several months I had nothing in the way of parts.

I believe he doesn't even see the parts, he goes through a third party distributor and relies on them to ship the parts to you directly, he just handles the paperwork. Many parts for the s2k end up being backordered, instead of telling you they might be backordered he just strings you along hoping that they will show up before you get pissed off enough to cancel the order. If a part is available at the distributor it goes out right away, but if your part is not at the distributor you could wait a long time. That explains why some people get fast service and others end up like me. I personally could have lived with the delay if I was told from the start about the possibility, but I didn't appreciate being lied to intentionally by him and strung along week after week. Very poor business practices IMO.

I ordered a clutch master cylinder from him a few weeks ago, got the part in 3 days.

Being intl must have something to do with it, but bad communication does sour the waters a bit, I would assume.

Good luck with your order. I have ordered serveral times from jeff and he is a good guy. I never have had a problem, so rest assure of that.

reason I asked is I ordered some parts on the 27th of April via international priority (3-7days), its been over 2 weeks now and I have not received tracking, nor any confirmation that my parts have in fact been shipped...
They will not respond to emails either..

I should of just paid the extra expense and sourced parts from my dealership.

should I just wait or take it up with paypal? does anyone know if they're on holidays or anything?

the s2k has been on stands for 2 weeks waiting for this damn wheel bearing..
You could also try in the future hondapartscheap.com and hondapartsnow.com. got my rear bearing and hub from H.P.N real fast. Good luck with the car

I have only had positive experiences. I have ordered parts from him on 3 or 4 occassions, and have always received my part within a week or so. The only problem I ever had was I ordered some hardtop hardware, but did not receive the electrical chord needed. I called him, he put it in the mail no questions asked, and I received it in a couple of days.

I've ordered a few small things, including Honda MTF, and have had no delays or hassles of any kind. I intend to use him again in the future if the need arises.
