Default anyone install hydrtamat in tank fuel pump setup

Hello
I'm looking for upgrade walbro 450 single from walbro 255 with hydramat setup
I'm thinking to remove fuel tank bowl(remove tank inside tank dremel cut the bowl) and buy 15x15 hydramat and connect to walbro 450 single pump
however walbro 450 doesn't looks offer AN fitting bottom of pump so I'm trying to figure it out this solution
If I installed walbro 450 SOS bolt on kit to stock sender unit, there is no space between bottom of fuel tank and bottom of walbro 450 fuel pump ( I did't see the actual inside of fuel tank yet but I think walbro bottom pick up touch to the bottom of tank), so there is no space for install additional fitting on bottom of pump to connect hose to hydramat
anyone has experienced dremeled walbro 450 bottom pick up plastic and mod to 90 degree L fitting or any firring on pump?
I might cut the stock fuel sending unit to move up for installation 90 degree L fitting if walbro 450 can mod bottom L fitting

anyone has experience?

Did you find a solution? Isn't the hydromat NPT only? Not much room for fittings. I'm wondering the same thing. Not many hydromat users here.

  • The Hydramat uses an Npt fitting. Finding a stock size fuel pump with this fitting is a pain, or one doesn't exist.

A guy posted up using a Magnafuel 750 fuel pump but that thing is $450 and overkill for non high boost cars.
