I have a question and probably someone can help me. I have an ap1 and I’m planning to swap my Ap1 headlights for the Ap2 headlights complete set with HID Ballats, Igniter etc… I want to know if this is a plug and play swap. I don’t want surprises ones I’m doing the swap. I do know that they will fit perfect and I have seen the DIY but with the Ap1 Ballats and Igniter. I haven’t seen a complete swap with the Ap2 headlights HID Ballats Igniter and that’s what I’m concern about.
Is the Ap1,Ap2 headlights harness the same ? Is there an DIY in this forum that I haven’t seen?

If anybody can help me I will really appreciated, comments, suggestion are very welcome!!

I did this swap. I got my ap2 headlights with the ballast box and everything and its a direct swap, plug and play. The harness connections are identical so its very easy.

No problem. There isnt a real DIY here yet, but Ricks2k.com has their DIY for their clearr headlight diffusers, and it shows all the steps with good pics on how to remove the headlights. Alot of people here follow his write up. Then its as easy and plugging the ap2 lights in and reinstalling them in reverse order.

I'm going to buy the Headlights with the HID Ballats igniter etc.. and start the process. Is there anything apart from this that I need to buy for the swap?

 

Nope, all you need is the ap2 headlights with the Ballast and your good to go.

 

So no igniter?
That will save me some money!
Does the bulbs from my Ap1 will fit the Ap2 as well?

 

You will require the ignitor too.

one thing im not clear on, is #14 [wire] erquired for the conversion?



i was told its required when converting from AP1 to AP2.

So #14 is the one that I need to know if the other half of the wire will fit the harness of the car, and that's my question. Because one end goes to the ballats and the other one to the harness of the car. And that's where I want to know if is plug and play.

 

I also check the Honda diagram wire from the website and is a different part number and they don't look the same. I'm wondering if I will need to do any wire modification? I really don't want to do mods on my car
