AP1 Suspension Refreshing
Question 1 - does anybody make a poly bushing kit for the S? Or are the bushings permanent? If they are permanent, has anyone poured their own bushings?
Question 2 - I looking into a shock/spring upgrade, my primary use for the car is cruising not an everyday driver. I will be participating in SCCA events and hitting every long track hopefully frequently but I am not looking to sacrifice reliability and ride quality to win I just want to have fun. In the past I have run shocks such as bilstein and KYB adjustable. I do like the option of firming up the car for a race then taking it back to soft with a couple of clicks in fact my Vette had the FX3 option which came with an electronic factory adjustable bilstien. I do not want the KW they are to much money and I don't have the talent or patients to really utilize the adjustability. Even the PSS9 I am not sure of, I really have no need for the adjustability.
Koni Yellows with stock AP1 Springs - from my understanding the rear dampening/rebound is less, which will provide smoother cruising. The 1/2 drop is nice also, I do not want to go past 1/2 drop.
AP2 Socks and Springs - Again the rear should be softer and the valving a bit better than my AP1.
CR Shocks and Springs - I know that the spring rate has increased and the valving adjusted but how is the everyday driving?

Yes I belive Eibach makes a poly bushing kit. They also make one of few of the great springs for the S. Strait rate 20% stiffer But 1" drop, so with Kony you could go 1 1/2 drop or stay on the top purch for just 1" spring drop. I ran on the eibach pro kit with factory Ap1 dampers for a good two year, was very pleased for just a spring swap in how they handled, the rear did feel slightly under rebound dampened though. kony would fix this.
I don't think the CR is adjustable, but yes firmer sprung and valved. Kony yellow and factory or other spring of your choice is the only set up I'm aware of with that will give you a 1/2 set drop max with some damping adjustment, but no preload adjustment, simple like you said and go from soft to firm with a turn of a dial. Just pick the right spring and that should give you what your looking for by your description. I bet the poly bushing kit will go nicely noticed as well.

I am thinking of doing the CR suspension as the spring rates up front are higher and from what I have read, the ride is still very good. Hardtop guy has the CR suspension stuff. My thought is to just try the front springs and shocks are the rear rates aren't that different from what I already have an I only have 32,000 miles.

What are you trying to achive excactly? Have you considred the cost of these CR dampers versus say a stiffer front sway bar? If plushness and softer bump response is what your trying to maintain but want better cornering control and less lean, then sway bars may be a good option for you to consider.

$600 for the front shocks and springs vs $600 for the Gendron bar. I would want an adjustable bar since it's hard to say if I will stick to OEM or go after market suspension down the line. But yes I am debating this very thing you mentioned. I go back and forth on which makes more sense.
