it's an lsd designed for an s2000 it will go in both ap1 and ap2, you can make a tougher gear set inside an lsd without changing an lsd's components....same components, tougher material. i'm not sure how you didn't decipher that yourself.

i will be upgrading to a cusco 1.5 way in a few months, just need the ap2 to last a bit longer than the the ap1 for the time being... it will be a cusco 1.5way with a j's 4.777 gear set. no i am not super charged. i have tein flex suspension in the rear, the lower setting for the half shaft more than likely also puts more stress onto the lsd's. and the first one was original it lasted 1yr with me. the second and 3rd were all picked up from the junk yards.

edit i have tein flex suspension all the way around. i just meant the lower setting with the suspension in the rear puts more stress onto the lsd's and half shafts.

i do not understand what you mean...if you go and get an lsd from honda they will give you the same one whether or not it's ap1 or ap2. however, with a much more significant torque curve in an ap2 (since they use the same half shafts) and wider heavier tires they need to make a stronger lsd so it will hold up thus changing the materials inside the lsd without changing component size or structure it will replace an ap1 lsd with the previous material, and be sold to both cars.

Lowered on Megan Racing (first the street version, now the track version) for more than half of my 83k miles I have on my s2000. Never had diff problems. OEM diff is still in working order and I drive pretty spiritedly. I also have 18s, which are heavier than your ap2 wheels.

Maybe the diff you had originally was on its way out and the two you got from the junkyard both were fubar, but that is highly unlikely. Good luck with the ap2 diff.

Man, now I'm super-worried about my 17"s with 255s now. I mean, I know I've been running them for 90k miles and have relentlessly beat on my car, but if this guy is breaking diffs all the time then everyone else MUST be lucky, right???

I wouldn't discount that thought. Most S2000's end up in junkyards because the owner couldn't drive.

even for a weak drivetrain/diff.. it can handle daily driver abuse.. i abuse my diff pretty bad and its holding up just fine
