Gooned it last night and thought the SUV in front of me had moved on ... Started letting the clutch out as I turned head to front from checking over the shoulder to enter the flow.... OOOPS put the front end under the SUV and crinkled the hood, headlights and at least one fender and the bumper. Stock black on black AP1 - I think I am going to put the AP2 bumper on.. I know it is a matter of personal preference but wondered if there are any real pros or cons to doing it mechanically or otherwise. Car is daily driver and will be. I like the AP2 look a bit better. Any thoughts from long term S2K bubbas? DOOOH - now I see the immediate prior post. oh well

Just completed this mod yesterday and its a quick, easy, cheap fix for a loose grill. I could not find the plastic fasteners at Home Depot but found a large assortment at a local hardware store. Much appreciated!

Well done. That's a clever approach.

It makes me wonder if I should not have trashed my grill and replaced it with hexagonal mesh. On second thought, the mesh does match the mesh in the inlets for my brake ducts.

I drove around with top down for a few days without realizing the grille had fallen off. Glad there wasn't any meet recently otherwise I would look so cool with that grille hanging there.

I'm loving the mod so far. I had quite a lot of bumper clips laying around, so I trimmed those down to fit in the holes.

New to the "S" world, why in the heck does the grill fall off in the first place? I am at 23K miles, its a 2005, I have not noticed this problem yet, is it dislodged when driving on horrible roads? high speed? what exactly? Awesome forum by the way !!!!

the ap2 grill is held in place by some really small clips that dont really work well. I ordered a new grill for mine after the grill was missing and I noticed that it seemed pretty terrible how the designed it. Im going to do this mod now that I've come across this thread.
