Hi Cinaibur-
How does the S2K sound on the highway with the 38mm? I use my car a lot for work so I don't want the cabin to be too loud on the highway. My main goal was to increase the sound over stock when accelerating rapidly while hopefully keeping a relatively tame sound driving normally. Make sense?

Did 1.5, it was loud with a test pipe, nice with the oem cat but quiet. With the HFC it is about perfect.

I have a 44mm UK mod with a Berk 63mm HFC. The sound is definitely noticeable.

Not recommended, but doable.

I just got it done and used 1.5" tubing and it's quieter than I had thought it was going to be but still sounds very nice. Cant really tell from inside the car but had someone drive my car while i listened and you can def tell a diff. Nice deep growl.

agree, with the 1.5" and hfc the purrs at cruise with no drone and roars on throttle. Best of both worlds for sound, cheap, but no weight savings. That being said, I didn't notice much of a handling difference between skunk2 and stock exhaust, but I'm not chasing tenths on a track either.

lol...yes I know you can weld two different metals. But:
-Not at a muffler shop.
-It's expensive.
-Why??

I used 1 5/8" stainless and it sounds great with factory cat or with my 63.5mm test pipe. With the test pipe it sounds like aftermarket exhaust, loud.

Ok I did it. I went back and swapped out the 1 in./25mm to 1.5 in./38mm. I drove away with the top up and felt disappointed. After work I dropped the top and the sound was glorious! (Maybe it had a break in period?) Great recommendation guys! So glad I went back. Everyone has their own taste but I would suggest 1.5 to 1.75. I love it!!! Stay away from 1 inch...it does nothing. I can only imagine the sound if I upgrade to a CAI.
