This actually isn't true. I got my car without the stock airbox lid (previous owner took it off and didn't give it to me) and I just installed my ARC intake box and arm. It pulls WAY harder than without the lid. Verified with before/after against my friend's turbo 240sx.

As far as how much it gains over a stock, unmodified, I'm not sure, but the sound and throttle response is good enough for me. I drove for 30 minutes, popped the hood to feel how hot the intake would be, and...it was cold.
im curious to know how your arc box stays cold after 30 mins. Mine would be extremely hot after 30mins to the point of no use.

O yea i forgot to mention that i live in texas so ARC box thingy would NOT be a good idea for this hot a$$ weather especially in traffic, unless your in colorado or canada where the weather is beautiful but not tx or arizona for that factor and my car is daily driven so not the best of times when its hot....

this is the best set up... Original AirBox with cover, cut the plastic inside the box (restricted air) drop in a K&N filter (part # E-2435) and if you want get a Ebay snorkel for looks and cold air

MIKI
Those are the facts

I think alot of people are gonna try to sell there ARC intake now after all this mess and trash talk but in all honesty if you want to blang blang and dont care about performance and not gun it, why not but I would like to see some charts and not go off what somebody says im not gonna lie i almost bought it and mainly because i thought it would look so cool and better looking than a CAI but now that ive read more about it and actually talked to people in my area about it quickly changed my mind to get the stock airbox back with a spoon air filter and a snorkel....good times good times

ARC is definitely a bling factor and like what everyone says here it won't give you any gains. Save your money for something else and just keep your current CAI. Good luck
