Default Axial Flow Shifter bushing broken

Hi,

I have an Axial Flow short throw shifter, and over the weekend the bushing around the ball at the end of the shifter broke.

Anyone else have this problem? I have J's solid diff mounts and Spoon engine / trans mounts, which makes shifting noticeably stiffer. Perhaps this contributed to the breakage?

Anyone know where I could get a replacement, hopefully stronger than the stock plasticky version?

Thanks!

Have you tried the manufacturer? I'm sure they got spares. BTW the Axial part looks stronger than OEM, was it well greased?

Yes, greased very well. Used Mobil 1 grease, which is a synthetic high-temp grease.

It could be stronger... but I found out the hard way that the Axial Flow round tip is actually larger than stock. Thus, the wall of the bushing must be thinner. It appears to be a different material as well. Dunno which would be better.

Tried emailing Rick's S2K... didn't get a response yet.

You are going to have to contact Axial Flow for a replacement. Rick's had not sold them for well over a year.

Honda calls for high temp urea grease and my layman's understanding is that it has a long service life in addition to high temperature stability compared to other organic or inorganic (i.e. synthetic) greases. Practically speaking, I'm not sure if it has a significantly longer service life than the Mobil 1 but that's what I used in my Axial Flow.

Good to hear Axial Flow was quick to responded.
