Berk Technology High Flow Cat - Metallic Substrate
Now available, for the tree hugger in us all......
Berk Technology High Flow Catalytic Converters.
Features a stainless steel high flow Magnalfow cat that meets strict OBDII standards. These use Magnaflow's new metallic substrate cores. Less weight, greater durability, and higher flow than your standard ceramic subsrtrate "high flow cat". Our Superflow bench test data shows that THIS cat flows 87% as well as a test pipe vs. 43% for the OEM Cat. I say THIS cat because these are the actual cats tested. Not a "similar" cat. Smog legal, high flow, no test pipe smell. You can have the best of both worlds...
Do not confuse these with the $60 Ebay special ceramic core cats. These are true performance cats!

Mandrel bent tubing
304 stainless piping & flanges
2.5" OD piping
A2 stainless steel bolts & nuts.
New gasket included
Weight: 4.55 lbs (stock cat weight is 12.55lbs)

UPDATE 12/03/07
Dyno test was conducted after we did our Dual 57mm exhaust test. So you have test pipe comparisons vs. our high flow cat.
Only change made between the two tests was the switch from the Berk Technology 63.5mm test pipe to our 63.5mm High Flow Cat.

SAME DYNO
CAR WAS NOT EVEN UNSTRAPPED FROM THE DYNO!
ONLY PART CHANGED WAS THE BERK TEST PIPE, TO BERK HIGH FLOW CAT.
1.1% HP loss vs. test pipe (just a hair over 1%)
0.8% TQ loss vs. test pipe (less than 1%)
In "dyno speak" numbers:
HFC loses 2.35 HP vs. full test pipe (average across 4 runs)
HFC loses 1.135 ft/lbs vs. full test pipe (average across 4 runs)
While no one can expect an actual OBD II cat to perform just as well as a test pipe, we come pretty darn close!
While you are at it, crunching numbers, check out how well our exhaust performed. Couldn't be happier with the results.

So you're saying that this is twice as efficient with respect to flow as the OEM Cat, correct?
What is the weight of this vs. the OEM Cat?
Will this cause a check engine light on an 06 like the test pipe?

Yeah, Im interested. Smog legal HUH? I'm in cali and want something that i'll still pass visual 4 smog even though its years away, but like the added performance that this could produce. $200 GROUP BUY, IM IN!!!!!!!!
