Default Brake piston tool

Hi guys,

When changing the brake pads, do you push back the brake piston by using the 3 inch C-clamp or this cube tool?

Thanks

^^

That only works on the front brakes.
Rears are threaded. I just use the square head of a ratchet.

I use the cube for the rears. Works like a charm.

For the rears, you can also use a 3/8" socket wrench head, or a large screwdriver with the blade positioned in one of the slots offset from the piston center.

Thank you, everyone Ckit, were you the one who wrote the DIY brake pad change tutorial? It is very helpful!!! As for changing the rotor, do you use any special tool to remove the 2 brake disc retaining screws?

Thanks again!

An impact driver works well for the screws. I had no problem with a 18V impact driver/drill (100ft-lb) on my 6 year old rotors. Or, you can get a $10-15 one that works with a mallet.

Yeah, but your rotors don't see road salt.
