I just installed a set of Winmax W1. I haven't put on too many miles yet, but initial impressions are pretty positive. Stronger initial bite vs AP2 pads and super quiet. They are also supposed to be low dust, and so far so good in that department.

IMHO, the OEM pad is about all you need for street driving.

I agree. I'll take it one step further and say that IMHO the OEM pad is the best pad for street driving.

If going OEM, I'd prefer the semi metallic AP2 pad.

Of course the stock pads are fine for street use.

But if OP wants them to feel stronger, there are other options. Depending on how much dust, noise, cost, etc he is willing to deal with...the options are endless.

Still a very vague request.

OP...maybe stick with stock pads and make sure all the moving parts are properly lubed. Overall service will make the brakes feel stronger. And/Or buy more aggressive pads.

Stoptech sport pads with some inexpensive slotted rotors will provide that extra bit of initial bite you may be looking for, while still being street/daily friendly. Its about the best overall compromise I can think of above anything marginally better then stock without massive dust, noise or grinding up your rotors in no time.

I have used Hawks HP+s and now Streetrace, and have been happy with them. This includes 5 track days a year, autox, and weekend street driving in a stokish s2000. Yes they dust, but my using a wheel sealer like Dr Beasley helps.

Ive run hp+ on the street and though I loved the incredible bite, the noise and dust was absolutely unbearable. Sounded like a train coming up to every stop light, which was totally embarrassing and after just a week of driving the whole side of the car and even in my interior on my dash had a layer of brake dust, it was a constant thing and im sure I was breathing that shit, so no I would never recommend those pads for someone on the street. Not to mention they are extremely harsh on rotors, worst ive ever seen.

I am trying Hawk HPS 5.0 for my street pad and so far they are a decent compromise. Somewhat more initial bite than stock pads, virtually no dust and silent. Very linear response to pedal pressure too, better than OEM. But if the OP is looking for a significant increase in initial bite, which many people equate with increased braking performance, then they are not the best choice.
