Brakes Going Out..
Yes, the OEM brakes are just fine!
I used to have a Stoptech BBK on my first S2K and while it was great, I know I don't need it now.
OEM brakes are more than fine for my driving.
However, Hardtopguy sources the parts at around $95 for each rotor, and $50 or so for the pads.
So, not looking to get JDMBALLERSLOTTEDBBQ rotors or anything, but looking at all options in that price range.
I've narrowed it down to:
TireRack's Cryo-Stop rotors (cheapest of the gang, black looks cool, they sound fine)
Centric Premium rotors (pretty much identical to OEM)
And I will get Axxis Deluxe pads. Same price as OEM anyway.
I also have some DOT3/4 Brembo fluid from another brake job I will use.
Anybody have experience with these rotors/pads on their S2?
Should I get the OEM caliper-rebuild kit? WTF is that?
Forget SS lines, I know. Fluid is fluid as far as I'm concerned (don't track).
These pads are quiet, no dust, long lasting, easy on the rotors.
Rotors are both same structure and specs as OEM.
I expect no change in braking, really... Just looking for feedback. On these specific parts.
Cheers,
W

you don't need the caliper rebuild kit unless you are having an issue with your calipers.
as for the brands, get what fits your budget. that setup will stop the car and as you've stated you're not tracking so you don't need to really worry about much. my mantra is go oem though for everything that you can, they spent a lot more money designing everything and insuring that it'd work for a long time

cool. im sure the cryo-stop is just as good as oem, and they look pretty cool, and are cheaper.
ill probably try them out alone with the axxis pads, brembo fluid.
and no rebuild kit since im sure my calipers are fine (38K easy miles).
thanks!!
