Default break in period cold air intake question

Hey everyone, I'm new here so forgive me if this isn't posted in the correct area. I just bought a 2009 S2000 and she now has 3,800 miles on her. I have had lots of luck with past cars and AEM cold air intakes: should I wait till the motor has more miles on it before I buy and install a cold air intake?

Do I need a cold air intake at all, and if so is AEM the best? Reliability is a huge issue for me because my S2000 is my only car. Thanks so much for the help!

Rob

get yourself the K&N fipk kit so you don't have to worry about sucking up water. It will work fine and no breakin period needed besided doing and idle relearn after install. My CR had 2200 miles when I put mine on.

If waters rise then cold air is not the best option esp if its a DD.

+1 for the K&N FIPK. It's an amazing intake...the first drive I took with it was unforgettable. When VTEC kicked in...heaven.

I loved my FIPK have since installed comptech Icebox also great. FIPK is MUCH louder than the icebox also works great if matched to a AUT plate

Please refer to the countless prior intake threads. Best is always highly subjective (otherwise everyone would either have the exact same intake or everyone would have no intake), regardless of topic. You need to clarify what your specific criteria are if you want recommendations. Otherwise, your questions have been endlessly rehashed in prior threads.
