without starting a major argument, this is the mentality of a lot of people around here. And those people usually hate on Rota wheels, too.

who cares? If you have the $$ and want authentic Brides, buy 'em. If you don't, then it is your prerogative and that's just fine. Just don't play them off as being authentic.
That's just my opinion on the topic. Personally, I'd rather keep my OEM seats than sit in fake Brides. Different strokes for different folks though.

i disagree with you. safety is a big concern. my beater seat (f1spec type 3) flexes quite a bit. i do not feel it would survive an accident in 1 piece. i will be picking up a cobra suzuka seat (made with kevlar) in a couple weeks. to the person who talked about welding your seat. how do you plan to weld FRP or carbon/kevlar? you can get fia approved seats starting around 500.00, why cut corners? also, why buy the fake brides, they already come with the bride logo plastered on both sides of the seat. if that isnt faking the funk, then what is? there are plenty of other knock-off seats without a huge real brand logo on them.

for seats that fit without rubbing. you pretty much want to stick with a seat that has 560mm or less for the shoulder wing width. the vios, exas, and artis navi all meet that requirement.

i would ride in a replica and i would claim it to be a replica. personaly i would choose to not have gradation but that deal on H-T looks pretty good for bucket seats in general reguardless if they are replicas or not.

I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to these things. I get sucked into these safety standard things a lot. I wouldn't mind getting the replicas if there are some form of safety standards that they meet that are same as those of OEM / Bride seats.

Even in Hong Kong (which is a place full of replicas parts of Japanese cars, and where replica parts are widely accepted in the Japanese car group), people still don't go with replica seats -- especially those who track the cars, etc. They may opt for replica kits, etc. But when it comes to safety stuff -- e.g. braking system, seats, etc -- they don't go with replicas ...

i saw some at a friends house. they looked awesome. I probably wouldn't put them in my s2k but i'm definately getting a set for my s13. It's got a sr20det so i gotta stay planted going sidewayz!

They are worth it for the track car

I remember reading that the replicas use alcantra (sp) fabric
I highly doubt that, since Alcantara is pretty expensive.
