Default Carbon Fiber Hood Gap

well i just bought a Top Secret style carbon hood.

and like most was not pleased with the fitment. i mean im okay with a little gap but this was a lot.

i was able to see the engine.

my solution? homedepot.

bought some frost king foam weather stripping. and stuck it in the gap looks pretty good so far.

there is still some gap as you can see on the close up. however major improvement. on masking the gap.

these replica hoods seem to be semi warped. but for 200 bucks why not. haha

just put it on so havent tested durability yet. but for 3 bucks thought i give it a shot.

sorry to say it looks...well....ugly.

I like it's purpose but maybe you should have sprayed them black before putting them in place.

painting would have been more trouble than its worth.

i was on the fence about the hood after buying it so im trying to see if i want to keep it.

the weather strip least what i was going for. was to somewhat try to match the rubber seal at the front of the hood.

it looks worse, imo. if you adjust the hood latch assembly, the hinge/body bolts, the hinge/trunk bolts, and the rubber stoppers near the strut towers, you should get it to fit right. i've seen many that fit right after a lot of adjustment.

Don't look now, but I bet you can really see the engine through those vents in the hood.

Just kidding.

It could be worse, but I would leave it off.

it's a Seibon TS style hood. VIS makes one that's the Seibon MG style hood without the hump on the front. this dude has the VIS one for sale in the FS section right now.
