Crushed lower tie bar...


I noticed on the ride home from the Dragon when someone else was driving my car that the undercarriage looks different then the other S with us.... Once I got the car home, cleaned, and up on stands for a fluids swap I took a peek under the car... Yup my eyes weren't playing tricks it is different...

I crushed the lower tie bar, well twisted it up pretty good anyways... I know when it happened too... Just before we got to the house we had rented for a few days the GPS sent us through town and there was this one crazy looking road when you pulled up to it. It went almost straight down... Well there was a ditch hidden on the other side of the crest! Yeah I hit WICKED HARD when I went over (lowered quite a bit), car felt like it was going to high center it bottomed out so hard. then i hit again... When I peeked under the car at the house I didn't notice anything unusual and the car drove and rode just fine... Made a mental note not to follow the GPS when the road it wants you to go on disappears before you crest it!

Anyways... I need/want to replace it while I have the car in the air. Any of you guys run aftermarket lower rear tie bars or have a one that you were looking at you could suggest? I like to replace broken stuff with something better then stock if possible and I have a few I like but trying to keep it under 2bills if I can help it.

I've noticed my right side suspension is all f@#ked up... I need new hubs and tie rods as well as bushings all around

there u go and u dont have to spend anywhere near 2bills. thats the small install and review i did on here for it. he linked it directly in the auction

I have a front lower tie bar for sale cheap, it's a cusco sytle C shaped bar, but from the sounds of the post you messed up a rear tie bar ?

 

Yeah the rear one it fold over quite a bit. I was looking at the ASM and PasswordJDM rear bars... But I am liking the beatrush 4pt... May just have to squeeze another car detail in this month to have the extra cash for it...

 

It is pretty pimp! It's nice how it ties into the rear subframe to really stiffen things up

 

^ Yeah... I think I am getting the Beatrush... Bit more then I wanted to spend but a nice piece that adds beyond just the lower tie bar.
