i'm lookin to buy a ap1 slave cylinder to get rid of the clutch delay valve. only thing is, i hear the ap2's have a larger pressure plate the causes more stress on the drivetrain.. to counter this, would a ap1 flywheel be needed to balance everything back out again? i read somewhere that the ap2's shouldnt use a lighter flywheel than the ap1's... plz n thank you for the help!

Ive had a new 03 slave cylinder in my 06 for well over two years with no incident. It was the best $63 ive spent. But just to keep someting in mind. The presure plate on the AP2's isnt really stiff enough to fully eliminate the slippage. If you wanted to do it right you could upgrade that. I opted to wait till my clutch needs to be replaced to spend that money.

GL with your decision

PS if you are doing this yourself there is a great DIY in the sticky's at the top.

u know you can mod your oem ap2 slave! takes all of an extra 10-20 minutes.

anywho, dont forget your gona have to bleed the system very well after swapping. gravity bleed works very very well.

AP1 & AP2 use the same clutch assembly (friction disk & pressure plate). The AP2 flywheel is heavier.

When going with a lighter flywheel you have to consider the effects...too light of a flywheel can make the car very hard to launch. You can go with a flywheel lighter than an ap1, but you may not like the results for a daily driver.
