Unhappy cel? what caused it?

well in preparation of getting a turbo kit, i thought i would upgrade the cooling system to support the extra heat. So, i went with mishimoto parts, radiator, hoses, stat, fans, and fan switch. i flushed the system completely with distilled water and then replaced it with 50/50 and added 2 bottles of royal purples engine ice. under normal operation, the temp gage was at 7-8 bars. mine is an ap2, my understanding is that 7-8 is the norm. however now it operates at 4-5 bars. so, is my system TOO efficient? i already reset the ecu and it did it again. so im a little worried now. i will check the code tomorrow. it doesnt retard my system either. any input would help. any ideas what caused it? and is i bad for my car?

i have an AEM version 2 ems, would this fix my issue if is is indeed my factory ecu that cant support my mods?

Last I head, AEM did have a problem with the temp gauge correct? As far as why you have CEL, its best to pull the code. That way you know exactly what is wrong.

Have you double checked all your connections?

It sounds like your thermostat is missing, or stuck open. It is definitely too cool, and will drastically increase wear while also reducing power. Get a late model AP2 thermostat in there, which is about 10 degrees F hotter than the earlier thermostats. Basically, hotter coolant temps are better for power and efficiency.
