Choosing a Flywheel weight

I put in the ACT - 8.6 lb flywheel , but I'm using an ap2 pp and oem disc, for my Ap1. It drives perfectly fine, very easy to drive.
On your current car have you checked to make sure the clutch rod freeplay is proper, if the freeplay on the clutch rod gets too tight it will slip the clutch at higher rpms.
