mugen pp is stock, with "upgrades" (bullshit marketing) and the spoon is anther XIO CHENG plate, which supply's about 99% of the market manufacturers that use Taiwan/Chinese parts, like sos's.

one thing, for you kids that like stuff like that.. you don't actually need to buy them from spoon/j's/sos/d2/megan/ etc, you can get taiwan parts from Taiwan directly.. i got my $1200 "mugen" intake for 100$ shipped.. i just pretended i was a new upstart coil-over company and wanted to have a sample, few photoshop pictures in an email and i saved 1100$..

sold it for 400 hehe.. refuse to run that shit in my car

Just put in OEM FCC PP/Exedy disc and a Toda Flywheel. The flywheel is by far the best mod I have ever done to any car. (AP2 btw).

Any drawbacks? Sounds like a good idea. How much does your FW weigh?

^To above

Its all relative, but no, not really. Unless you're heavily modded, the stock clutch is the way to go IMO as it is easiest on the slave cylinder and rear end.

The flywheel is fantastic. The only downsides are a slightly more abrupt uptake and slightly more shifting required in situations where you could have lugged a gear out before (i.e. certain hills).

The flywheel is 8 pounds; it is the same "blank" as the Js and the Spoon, but with holes drilled out at the perimeter.

The OEM clutch setup, complete with OEM release bearing and pilot bearing only cost 160 off ebay.

SOS sport clutch review
Sport clutch, new pilot bearing, and 8.5lb Ultralight flywheel installed...

First impressions immediately out of the shop(king motorsports)
Pedal effort was the first thing I noticed. It was very similar to stock if not easier to depress. Initially the clutch had a concerning amount of bite. It was especially challenging from a stop. You couldnt let it slip just a bit to start moving, it was like it locked on in an instant. I felt like I had roughly an inch in pedal depth to engage clutch and open throttle. Once it engaged it felt a little "bucky"...and by that I mean the acceleration curve wasnt smooth...if looking at an image of the curve, it would have sharp peaks that would slowly diminish in size until it was smooth around 4Krpm. The car would jerk a tad making it even difficult for my feet to move smoothly. lol, I felt like I was learning all over again in high school...shaaaAME! BUT this was prior to break in! On the stretch of road away from the shop I could feel the difference of the ultra light flywheel in the run through the tach. I could also feel how quickly they dropped between shifts as well. Really a fun mod

After 200 miles of city driving, which is recommended break-in length, all my fears passed away. Getting off the line requires a slight amount of more concentration vs stock but nothing crazy. I think if this was a DD I wouldnt recommend it(ULFW)as stop and go traffic would be a little tiring, but as a weekend car just for ripping around- absolutely gets my stamp of approval. I guess it depends on what you use the car for/driving style. Or if your a better driver than me...i dunno...Running through the gears was very close to OEM feel with an additional amount of grip that feels great. I wanted to open up the car so i took it out to the country and let loose WOT. I cannot stress enough how much of a diffence the ULFW made, its notably faster through the tach especially passing 4KRPMs

Attention all you fellow victims of clutch buzz...My SOS has ZERO buzz...ZERO. I tried my hardest to hear it...over and over again im trying to let off the throttle and decelerate to evoke that hideous sound...BUT NONE! I was so happy because I hated that with a passion.
