isnt the plastic pipe on the FIPK supposed to handle heat better than a metal pipe. makes sense in theory.

i have an aem dryflow filter on my FIPK. after a drive even on a hot day, the rubber on the filter is cool to the touch. in other words, the intake does NOT suck in hot air while moving.

someone mentioned that the FIPK airbox can let in plenty of hot air, but the idea behind the box was to have the hood seal off the top (hence the rubber tubing) and the location of the airbox will have positive pressure from air coming in from outside of the engine bay.

how well this works i dont know, but like i mentioned earlier, the rubber surround on my filter was cool to the touch after a long drive on a hot day.

My PRM is still kickin' ass

PRM doesnt make intakes only for S's so its not their main thing and they dont advertise it that much. i just ordered mine straight from prm. the dood on the phone was all about chattin it up and askin about the s and all that. took about a week since it comes from canada.

so would make the car seem laggy?

i have had this concern about the K&N as well. Did you experience this only in start/stop traffic on a hot day?

and as mentioned the K&N does look 'cheap' hehe
on stop and go traffic and on hot days, especially days at the strip during the day, my engine was bogging down at much higher rpm. but when i raced from a roll, it would do fine.

i wonder, i had the k&n fikp and i have the spoon type carbon fiber snorkel. the snorkel allows cool air in front of the radiator to go directly into the intake, what if you had the k&n with the snorkel? has anyone tried this, i saw some thing similar to acr intake with spoon snorkel.

^^ yes i was thinking something along those lines to have the cold air guided to the air box.

even the AUT CF cooling plate would help as well, thats what im planning on buying along with intake

yeah on that one, which copies the mugen intake, you have to cut ur hood to fit it, also it seems to be less effective than the spoon or j/s snorkel, unless you cut into the bumper or buy the muguen bumper.
