Default Is the Concensus that Front Strut Bar's Don't Help

I've had good results with front strut bars on other Hondas, providing results that you can feel. I've read a couple posts from owners on here stating that they didn't feel any difference from an upper front strut bar. Is that because the front of the car has enough stiffness and support built into it ?. Looking at the shape of the front end you would think that the shock towers might benefit from some support, but perhaps there is more support there than we can see. Any opinions on whether I should get one for my 02 s2k, btw I've only owned this car for 2 weeks. thanks for any replies

I don't think they are all that important, So I bought 1 from ebay for like $49. Its aluminum . Just depends on what you are going to do with your s2. Mind is mostly garage Kept, Sunny Day driving.

I, like your self, have heard that strut bars are useless. I might be wrong, but i think some of the s2000 race teams do not even use them. I believe i heard someone say that ASM doesn't even use it on their track car, even though they make them. Once again, these are only statements that i have heard, and do not know the validity of them.

The idea of the STB is useless - a brace across the front however MIGHT be helpful. The way the suspension is set up (double A arm) a "Strut tower brace" does nothing. However, a "STB" might help rigidity with the overall CAR which might help stiffen stuff up.

a STB is designed for the single A-arm/mac-strut setups...IIRC.

It is pointless for increased stiffness on this car. if you look just in front and below you will see the huge subframe brace going across. Having said that I bought one for $30 shipped on ebay which is nice to have something to lean on when working under the hood.
Do not spend much more as you will not get gains and no JDM one even at $300+ will perform any better than the ebay one.

I agree with others here that the bar may be unnecessary but you do have to appreciate the fact the it does add to the structural strength and integrety of the front end. Weather this strength is functional is going to remain a point of debate. This small and possibly unnecessary mod is fast easy and most of all cheap and for these three reasons, worthwhile IMO.
