thanks for all of the replies, sounds like it won't be helpful in terms of handling, I like idea of having something to lean on though working on this engine is a bit hard as you have to lean over from a far distance. It may be a better body (human) support , rather than a handling upgrad, he, he, he, thanks again.

Everytime I see a Strutbar out of aluminium it makes me smile: this is absolutly senseless because Al has a young's modulus which is 3x weaker than steel. So WTF should this thing help to increase stiffness??

Best would be steel or a solid carbon fibre bar.

what you're saying is all true, but i think the idea is to keep weight & cost down for this type of item. having a pure steel bar or all carbon fiber bar would itself be a pointless endeavor because quite frankly it would be overkill--there's a cost vs. weight vs. value love triangle here. even a hollow aluminum bar would be enough to handle the minute/negligible amount of stress coming from the shock towers without sacrificing the integrity of the material.

how about a pure diamond shock tower brace? now we're talking! :suprised:

If you want to spend some money to make it easier to work on your car then buy hood struts instead.

^Very true, got the cheap ebay stb which definitely helps but that will be my next under the hood mod. Make sure to get the NRG or similar one that will raise the hood much higher than the stock position.
