You can have the mechanic resurface it for a price, but usually the clutch job takes longer because they send it to a machine shop. You can get an ACT Prolite or Streetlite. The Streetlite is just a little lighter than a stock AP1 flywheel, but the Prolite is a lot lighter. If you have an AP2, I definitely recommend getting a lightweight flywheel.

I personally would not go any lighter than an AP1 flywheel. Many who do regret it due to drivability issues.

i am extremely jealous of that transmission jack and car lift. goddamnit, I did it on the floor with my car up on four giant jackstands, in the rain.

Were are u located? I was planning on spending ~ 1500 bucks on my clutch job. Ended up spending ~ 700 for everything. LMK.

that looks like a self-help shop or motor-pool? on a military base? looks like dudes wearing BDU's in the back... We had one of these at @ Fort Bragg in NC, Its where I learned to mount and balance tires and compress springs...

I agree the ap1 is really light...i think its around 12 or 14 lbs...versus the ap2...20 or 22lbs....i replaced my clutch with the ACT street kit...DONT GET IT...clutch buzz like crazzzyyy. When you decelerate at around 3k to 4k it buzzes like crazy...all of the ACT do that supposedly because of the spring design on the clutch...what most people do is get a ACT pressure plate and use an oem clutch disc and there is no clutch buzz...Im still totally hating and regretting my ACT decision but i dont have the money or a weekend free to take apart my car again...Do you research and see which clutch setups work best..dont make the same mistake i did lol
