Default Convertable top removal?

How much weight would you save by removing the convertable. I have a hardtop and never use the soft top really cause its the ugly plastic. If I do have the top down it usually stays down. So I was thinking why not remove it if I could save 150 lbs maybe. Im sure thats a strecth but I have heard that they are pretty heavy. Thanks, not sure if this is even the right forum.

I don't have exact number, but I remember reading that if you remove the soft top and its motors, and install a hardtop (oem), you end up shedding around 30-40 lbs.....

anyone know exact numbers please chime in!

Around 80lbs for the top, frame, and motor. One of our New England members did this. When you add the OEM hardtop back on, you get a net savings in the ballpark of 40 lbs.

I completely removed my rag top when I installed my oem hard top more than six months ago and heres what I've found...oem hardtop weight at least 45lbs, and the convertable with motor approximately 65-70 lbs.
