ordered a t1r b max ti (T182R).

what's the best way to shorten the shifter without making a mess? dremel?

No... The threaded segment of the shifter is not very long. If the T1R knob isn't countersunk enough, you could drill it and tap it deeper. Be super careful though or you'll ruin it.

My TWM desert Eagle is about 620g installed. The knob itself is 600 grams.

Edit:

Knob with installed Hardware (knob is 600 itself)
