Default Davis Car Chip on '00 model

Hi all, my BF has a S2000, and I'm always keeping an eye out for birthday gifts, etc, so when I saw the Davis Car Chip on tv, I thought it might be a bit of fun for him to be able to check out what's going when he goes for a spin. However, I've got no idea if it will work on his car. He's got a '00 model and has turbo charged it. I don't know a great deal more about what he's done to his car, but if you need to know more about it to tell me if the Car Chip will work on his car, I can find it out.

Cheers and thanks for your help!

What a great gf!!

Not sure that exclusion list will tell you what you need to know. I just recently learned that not all Aussie s2000s had OBDII, which that chip requires. Especially the early car's, like the '00, did not use OBDII. So I think you are out of luck.

Also, if he is turbo, he may not be running a stock ECU...which again would mean the chip wouldn't work.

Is this similar to a SCANGUAGE II? With the scanguage you can see the data real time.

Wow, did you actually register on here to find that out? Such a great G/F ... the things I would do to... ahem... for a girl if she did that for me

Ask his car friends? Im sure they will know what he would want.

Thanks for all your replies guys!! And yeah, I know I'm an awesome GF, however, being a girl, I completely forgot that I even posted this! (or maybe I was just drunk at the time... Hmmm )

Ok, so it sounds like I might have to find someone who can tell me if he's got a OBDII (even tho it sounds unlikely) before I think about the chip any further.

I'm not so keen on the idea of the SCANGUAGE tho, cos I'd rather that he watch the road instead of seeing what the engine is doing!

However, the carbon fiber hood idea sounds good! (you can get all panels in carbon fiber right? That means that I've got something to give him for at least the next couple of years!! Haha!) Got any recs of where to buy from?
