Deleted oil cooler?
So I sold my fullrace kit and the oil relocation and oil cooler setup it had with it because I'm going to be doing a different setup later.
For now I purchased the factory bolt that goes into the block to mount the filter and purchased a sandwich plate to put in place where the stock oem oil cooler would go so I can finish putting my new turbo setup on. The adapter ended up being not as thick as the factory cooler so I had to grind the bolt that goes into the block down to shorten it so the adapter would be tight against the block and not leak. Any thoughts I'm sure it will work fine I'm not sure why everyone swears a cooler setup is needed for an s2000 when a lot of Honda engines people never run a cooler setup when turbo. I have had 500-600whp B series motors that lasted years until I sold the cars and I never ran a cooler setup.
Also one other thing why do people say not to run the feed line off the adapter It's been done that way forever even though I used the oil pressure port. I know they said something about the it being clogged up from the filth in the filter but I have never seen anyone have that problem. I did run it back off the pressure sensor port like I had it the first time but I was just wondering.

The oil cooler serves two purposes. The first is to actually help get the oil up to temp quicker and the second is to help keep it cooler, once it is up to temp.
The reason why people recommend keeping the stock oil cooler is because unlike all of these 500+ hp B series motors, people tend to drive their S2000's more than a 1/4 mile at a time. I guarantee you a 500+ hp B series motor wouldn't last very long doing laps around a track w/o an oil cooler setup. The typical Honda Challenge race car making under 200 hp has a hard time keeping oil temps under 300 degrees with an oil cooler setup.
