good info! just got my mirrors installed yesterday. this is really the only way to do it. sticking them on top of your old mirrors will make your mirrors chunky looking and i can't see them staying on for long with the 3M tape.

i ended up ordering the JDM left-hand mirror and taking the glass out. spoon's fit in perfectly

there was that sticky putty stuff on the back of my driver side mirror housing attaching it to the actuator so that took some time to get off. passenger side snapped right out.

that goo stuff is kind of a pain to deal with once you separate the glass from the housing.

Thanks it'S2klean.

I see that jaima from Jaima Performance is selling a pair of convex mirrors like Spoon Sport at a great price. Wish I would have waited I would have save a lot of money.
Link to their post check them out.

I got Jaima's convex mirrors, couldn't be happier... one of those must have mods.
great DIY, can drop them in boiling water for 15 seconds, which is what I did rather than use the hair dryer. Either way works in getting the OEM mirror out and replacing.

I got mine from Jaima too and lovin it. I wonder if there is any difference between the two beside the price.

The spoon rear view mirror is a must have too! 55$ is more reasonable price then what their side mirrors are going for...

Great DIY.

remember, if you dont have access to a heat gun...

grab a pot, put some water in it, bring the water to a boil and drop the mirror housing w/ glass in the pot for about 30 seconds or so, and the plastic is as soft as you need it to be to pull the mirror out and put the new one in.... if its not flexible enough, toss it back in the pot

So can you take the entire mirror/housing off the car and drop it into boiling water for 15 seconds...? It won't harm the power mirror functions? Or should I try and remove the mirror from the housing while it's on the car...?
Thanks
