Where is the fuel pump located? For my teg i pulled the back seats up...in the S do I need to go in from the trunk somewhere under the spare tire area?

John, thanks for the link.

no problem, that link is to his screen name to PM. I could not find the original FS thread for the seat locks.

Fuel pump is under the rear tray on the driver side.

That's commonly parroted but not really supported by reality from what I recall. Kodokan has posted on this matter in the past and it's rare for seat lock equipped cars to be slashed. What you might do as a thief (I'm not saying you are -- I'm just saying don't assume that you know how all thieves think) isn't necessarily what other thieves would do. In any cases, thieves aren't all identical clones anyway. Most are in a hurry and have better things to do than waste time and risk getting caught by slashing the interiors of cars with theft deterrents.

In any case, reupholstering is definitely cheaper than new seats. It's a bit more marginal when comparing to used or aftermarket. And good luck driving your car with no seats. You can certainly still drive even with slashed seats.

Wheres the rear tray? Do you mean where the convertable top drops into? If so, does everything need to be removed or is there another path? If not does anyone know where those wires run to / can be tapped into?

As for the seats being sliced and diced...you could always get those nice covers for $250 and not worry about the tears.

To to O.P.
I would get seat locks for sure

Yeah the rear tray is what is under the soft top when it is down. You have to pull that out and then you can get to the fuel pump. Not as easy as most cars but once the tray is out doesn't take long. Just pain in the ass position to get to. Did mine in 15-20 minutes once the tray was out.

oh...so you can pull the tray out without removing the top then?

im guessing the top must be up, how in the world can you squeeze in between the top and the rool hoops. i could barely fit back there to dust it out

That's what makes it so fun to do lol. Yeah top up you have to reach in there from the back or the front if you can contort yourself to be able to reach back there. Not comfortable but doable. I never put mine back in though. Rattled with my sub so didn't like it.

just get an alarm... Anything else is just marketing bullshit..

Want to keep them from taking your seats for free... Strip your bolts =-) Not like you have any reason to take your seats out...
