Default Door Handle Puddle Light Retrofit

A friend of mine has a 2008 335i. When he unlocks his car there are led lights that come on behind the door handles. Looks very professional/ classy. Since our door handles are only open on the bottom, I feel that it'll be fairly easy to wire up and hide some led's up in there. As far as powering these goes what would be a constant power for about 30 seconds after hitting the unlock button. I think this would be a pretty bad ass/cheap mod that everyone would love once researched and good material and power supply was found. Let me know if you guys have any ideas or led manufacturer recommendations.

Thanks

Shane

Tap in to the switch for the dome lights; they come on when pressing the unlock button and come on after turning off the ignition.

Also, it would be cleaner asthetically if you were to flush an led into the bottom surface of the exterior mirror. Better light on the ground.

someone already did that somewhere on this site but no clear DIY and the pics are gone as well :/

.... someone also did one by inserting the lights into the door itself

I have the info on where to tap into the dome lights, I want to make a DIY with pictures and part numbers for the interior door handle and the exterior handle. Ill figure it out soon, still researching what LEDs to go with.

That's the only distributer I use as well, they make some great stuff in any sizing you need.
