Default ebay 4 point rollbars

Hi guys,
anybody experience with the ebay 4 point rollbars ?
For example :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/190684309911...aba997&vxp=mtr

Did a search but only they 90 page ebay thread popped up... nothing specific.

They look the same as the cusco/safety21's... they do the same job or any known problems?

thx for your advice!

grtz

Buy a HardDog roll bar and call it a day. Can't beat them and they are approved for SCCA club racing...

Plus if you are a tall guy/gal the ebay bar mounts to the floor behind the seat so you lose seat travel...

Hey, and they're made from molybdenum, not steel! From the ebay site:
>>>40mm Molybdenum Pipes using 33% Percent Lighter Material, but with the Same Hardness than similar Steel Roll Bar<<<

Utter b.s.!

I'm sure they mean chrome-moly STEEL tubing. But it doesn't matter if the steel is 4130 (chrome-moly) or mild steel (1010, 1020, 1025), the SCCA solo II size requirements are the same: 1.5" OD .120" wall or 1.75" OD .095" wall. So the weight is the same because the density is the same, whether chrome-moly or mild steel.

"Molybdenum" is denser/heavier, btw, but there's no way they're selling a tubular molybdenum roll bar!

I don't think I'd buy a roll bar from people who don't have any idea what the requirements are or what material their bar is made of...

I asked 3 times the same question in their for sale topic here on s2ki, 3 times they didn't answer my question so they didn't really care about my interest in their product.
Personally, i don't like the look of the harddog rollbar, so i asked pictures mounted on the car but with the whole car on the picture... no reply whatsoever...

SCCA is for me not important since I'm located in europe...I'll use it for time attack and trackdays...

I would not trust an eBay roll bar. You should not cheap out on safety items.

Really?!?!?! Go directly through HardDog then, I don't believe they are a Sponsor on the site (a Sponsor just recently started carrying the line though)! Tom and Martha at Bethania Garage are awesome to deal with and I had no issues with them answering any of many questions.

I installed one on a customers car the other day. I was exactly what youd expect a 200 roll bar to be. Crap. Grade nothing hardware. Had to be rebent in my press to get it to fit. Also had to rebend the mounting plates to fit the floor. Tubing is supersoft low grade steel as well. For looks its ok. Absolutely no safety whatsoever though.

Sos can order it for you as well. Or Rockstar makes some nice roll bars and they are a vendor on here.

You're doing it wrong.

and now in french... Vous le faites mal

Race suits, helmets, gloves, and shoes... sure, buy it cause it has some sort of styling that can be incorporated into the safety aspect.
Cages aren't suppose to "look" good, they are suppose to work.
