You can keep it with modifications. I just didn't want to put it back.

let's not start a "this looks good and that doens't" discussion here, we all have different tastes so...

A small reaction on Driven's post : if I can choose between a good looking safe rollbar or a bad looking safe rollbar, I'll go for the goodlooking safe rollbar.

It's obvious i want my rollbar to be safe, that's why i bother asking here about experience, otherwise i would allready have bought it.

@SilverS2kF22C1 : my experience is with a local sponsor... just ignoring my questions on the public board... if i want the harddog bar I'll go directly to Harddog then, thx 4 the tip!

On the other hand, I like the styling of the cusco/safety21/spoon/mugen.... where the safety21 has the best pricecard. Are they made out of solid steel?
I'm still considering the harddog bar thought, but I don't like to cut my panels, I'd like to keep my middle console and I'd like to keep my rollhoops...

I know I'm difficult

thx 4 your input guys, appreciate it!

If you want a safe rollbar, you have two options:
1. Harddog or similarly designed bar
2. Custom made bar

Don't do ebay, don't do the crusco, etc, etc. The benefits of the harddog is that it's a bar that has been proven to work, and fit.
A custom made bar would let you have a hand in how you want it to look (since that's a criteria of yours). Custom bars made by reputable rollcage builders, will be better than any mass-produced piece.

In my opinion, best to worse:
1. custom roll bar (pros: fabbed to your specific needs; Cons: expensive)
2. harddog (pros: Best mass-produced bar; Cons: not-SCCA legal)
3. mugen (pros: Gives nice interior pieces; Cons: expensive and the brand nazi fanboism that's associated with Mugen)
4. cusco/safety (pros: gets you on track if tracks don't allow 'verts without bars; Cons: poorly designed, real racers will make fun of you for having one)

Ebay bars not only have laughably thin metal, but their welds are junk and have almost no penetration. It will probably help kill you instead of protect you. Don't get a bolt together bar. Triangles make strength. See any triangles around the bolts on the cusco?

@DANWOLSKI: You sure you'll be able to get that extinguisher strapped in?

I think you meant me on the extinguisher... Only place I could possibly grab it strapped in would be next to the shifter So I opt for a location where when I undo the buckle it was accessible and not at my feet.

You can find hard dog items on ebay.....and s2000's and old formula one cars sometimes and the FIA rulebook and a welder and roll cage tubing...

The OEM roll hoops work just fine and whats better is the are government test reality proven!!! typeDOTy0!!!

If you want to spend your money making it safer for track use start with the driving position lower it as much as possible increasing the chance the a pillar and factory roll hoops hit the hard surface first and reinforce the seat mount itself. Then pull the roll hoop covers off and extend the factory hoops or replace them.

That's horrible advice. Sorry.
