if you find one that opens, you could just stuff some steel wool in there and sorta have a baffle. i don't think the hose sizes matter as long as they aren't waaay off.

depends on how you drive daily. i threw on the DIY home depot catch can and noticed a very small amount (like 3 drops) of blow by collecting after a month of easy daily driving. once i took it into the twisties on a group drive there was more than 10x the amount.

Not really. Just make sure u have a good pcv and ur good for the street. Even ap2s don't always need them on the track. Its mostly an ap1 track thing.

true true. Or some rubber foam or something like that. Not a perfect solution but a little better.

WOW some misinformation in here.

A catch can catches most of the vapors vented from the PCV before they get sucked into the IM; oil, gas ect. To say the AP2 doesn't need one is pure ignorance. ALL motors should have one in my opinion. Baffling is also a must. Old cars have them vented to the atmosphere, back before all of the emissions BS. When sucked into the IM, it actually reduces the octane of the fuel slightly and gunks up the valves over time.

I haven't put one on my AP1 yet, but I have a Carbing on my H22 Prelude. Every time I empty it with every oil change, I'm amazed at what the little thing caught.

The PCV valve looks to be 10mm just like on my Prelude. The breather looks to be bigger though; not that it should be hooked up to that though.

no misinformation at all. just lack of extended explanation on some things which appear that most of us are informed on. this is not a catch can explanation thread; just wanted some quick info on the ebay ones since just about all are the same.

and for clarification, i don't know the h22 engine at all. maybe you needed it for daily driving. but on the f20 and f22 you do not need it for daily driving unless you drive extremely hard in which most cases you are really endangering those around you. For n/a street, you don't really need much more than a clean PCV.

for track it is pretty much a necessity for the ap1. you'll find pics all over the racing forum of ap1s blowing out smoke signals on right bank high speed turns. the ap2 is a little different story. honda addresses some of the problems. Still a good idea for tracking, especially since they can be had for cheap, but it is much less of a necessity.

and no one said baffled cans aren't needed. the problem is there really isn't one available short of homemade techniques that has baffles. you can't buy a baffled one if none are available. so we look at the next best option.

so that should clear everything up. if you guys want to turn this into an info thread, go ahead now. i got what i need. i'm going with the black one i posted above. i like the finish best and it's 9mm which is what i was looking for. several of the other universal ebay ones are 15mm though so do your research if hose sizes matters to you.
