Sound like the front bumper lip has some inconsistent experiences depending on the seller...
BaysonR sound like they make a nice replica... Does the BaysonR lip come with everything needed for the installation? Are the screw points matched up with existing S2000 screw holes? Is 3M tape required, and if so, does BaysonR include it?
How far off is the quality between the replica and the OEM? I am getting some body work (and paint work) done on my car in the next month, so now would probably be a good time for me to get this painted and installed...

Thanks s2kdarren! Any chance you could provide some photos of your ride, including close-ups of your aftermarket spoiler and lip? Please also include a full car shot too...love to see what you've done to your car!

BaysonR lip and OEM THING spoiler

s2kdarren, your car looks fantastic... I don't see any downside to going with these OE replicas...
If you were super self-critical about these parts, what is the worse thing you could say about the build/quality/appearance?
From the photos, I can't tell any difference at all... The only downside (I suppose) is your own self awareness that these are not genuine Honda parts...
I give it the thumbs up!

downside to BaysonR front lip: have to get the lip painted and put on the moulding (easiest thing i ever did) and the fitment is 8/10. 10/10 with the moulding. I didn't even use the 3m tape. if this lip gets scraped up or cracked for any reason i will have 0 hesitation to buy again.
I am not a rich man and see no reason to spend crazy amounts of money that gives my car the exact same look. these aren't like Volk racing wheel replicas. you have no performance loss.
I am getting some body and paint work done on my front fender in the next couple of weeks, and my plan is to get the baysonR and the oem.thing pieces BOTH unpainted... The color match will probably be better since they are mixing a batch of paint to match my fender...
it's a miss or a hit. I bought two through ebay for an oem ap1 lip from bayonsar =that everyone recommend. one turned up seriously bad of an fitment and one turned out close to a good fit like a 8/10 scale.
A vendor should obviously make a very nice copy of the oem ap1 . Don't know why they havent yet, they did source out that rare gears lip. They should do the oem lip next.

Was ready to pull the trigger on one of these, but this post has caused me to pause for at least a moment or two...
According to this post, there is almost no uncompromising way to properly paint a polyurethane lip... And the poster sounds like he is an experienced professional...

All aftermarket lips are urethane. So its a level playing field as far as painting them goes. If the bodyshop does it right, it will be fine. Will the paint be as durable as on an plastic OEM bumper? Perhaps not, but will it last and look good? Yes, if the bodyshop does it right.
