Default EDM/JDM AP2 Gauge Cluster?

Is it worth paying what seems like 400-500 for the gauge cluster in an F20C swapped AP2? I just bought my car this week, and discovered previous owner did the swap.
I drove it to 8K RPM, but I knew I felt like something was missing up there. A friend pointed out to me that the valve cover is out of an AP1. Now I'm wondering if I should
just drive it to 9K not knowing the redline, or should I start looking for that gauge cluster.

Other than the valve cover what proof do you have that you have an F20? Do you actually have an ap1 ECU that will let you rev over 8250?

Valve covers in AP1 are the same as 04-05 AP2 valve covers. If he's pointing out that the spark plug cover is an AP1 spark plug cover, maybe previous owner just liked the AP1 spark plug cover more? Doesn't necessarily mean it was swapped.

Valve cover is definitely ap1 considering the TCV valve is different from an AP2's, fuel rail cover also doesn't match up to the rail so I'm also under the assumption the rail is from somewhere else.
I'm not certain if the previous owner swapped the ecu but I'm convinced that it isn't an f22

Have you checked the code stamped on the block?

Okay so now I'm just confused. I found the identifier plate and it reads f22c. Is there a benefit to an AP1 valve cover?
