Spoon mounts here as well, on engine, trans and diff. I have no complaints! its a bit harsher at first, but after break in can hardly tell the difference NVH wise.

Also how much power are you putting out? I have 170k miles on my mounts and still in one piece(with engine torque damper) with stock power.

Spoon Sports engine, transmission, and differential mounts here also. I love all of them very much.

That’s really sad to hear that the Balladesports motor mounts tore within 6 months. I had just tried to buy a set but they were out of stock apparently.

Did you try taking them up on their lifetime warranty?

I was told they are just marked up rock auto engine mounts. Most things Ballade sell are just rebranded/marked up parts.

Rock auto engine mounts are built to OEM spec so that cannot possibly be true given that Balladesports mounts are solid rubber and not fluid filled.

Are you sure the Rock Auto mounts are fluid filled?

There are two categories of aftermarket parts. OEM style replacements, and performance oriented.

OEM style parts must conform to the OEM spec only in as far as fit and function. It has to bolt in, it has to work. It doesn't have to work as well as OEM or last as long. It doesn't have to have the same internal structure.

The only aftermarket motor mounts for our cars I am aware of are solid rubber.

I can tell you they are fluid filled because I have a set that are splitting open right now and starting to spill their brown juice.

Rockauto occasionally sells performance oriented versions of parts but the motor mounts they sell are distributed by large, boring companies that just build OEM spec replacement parts.

Not really. Most of what they sell are various brands of OEM replacement parts. As far as I have ever seen there are no "rock auto" branded parts at all. They sell MOOG, Dorman, etc just like most parts houses sell and for a lot of applications those parts are perfectly fine. They also have things like Centric brake parts for many cars which are very good parts. . They typically have 3-4 levels of part in different brands just like any other parts stores, ranging from economy to heavy duty or something like that. They are no different (other than selection and usually better prices) than any other parts store. I would say in terms of big box auto parts stores (And for the parts I would buy from one of those) Autozone would be the bottom of my barrel and Rock auto would be up there around Napa or something similar. I have purchased typical daily driver type of parts from them for years without any issues whatsoever.
