Default EPS Compatibility

Hi, I have an uneven steering effort, and power steering that fails altogether intermittently. I took it to my local Honda dealer, who diagnosed it as a failed EPS control module. The dealer then told me they couldn't get a part until June, and now they don't think they can find one altogether.

That brings me on to my point - are the EPS units between AP1 and AP2 interchangeable? The car is currently residing in Canada, but originally from Texas.

I'm looking to buy this one on eBay, is this possible? I believe the little brand name and numbers might not be the same.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Ugh. You might also consider ordering a used torque angle sensor just in case. They're not available from the dealer anymore.

From what I've seen it is usually the torque sensor that fails when you get the symptoms like you describe, not the eps ecu ?

The part that's out of the car is a 39980-S2A-A02. I found this one on eBay that will ship to Canada, do you think it's compatible? http://www.ebay.ca/itm/271864083512?...aede880a5&cp=1

Thanks for any help.
