EVS REAR DIFF COLLARS
Herrow!
Some specs on my car first before I get into the nitty-gritty. I have an 05 AP2 with roughly 104k on her. I've been turbo'd three times since I purchased her back in 07 with 50k on the clock. I now have the Ptuning kit with the Ptuning single exhaust.
A few weeks ago, I was driving around and noticed that my clutch felt like it it would engage but the release point while letting the clutch go felt different. I didn't think much of it. A few days later I noticed when I take turns and accelerating out of the turns, I would hear something rattling or rubbing. Finally, I got under the car and poked around. I noticed the exhaust had some kinda gash in it, and it was from the bolts that hold the axle to the diff and you can see the bolts were kind of rounded out some. The first thing I thought that maybe the exhaust needed to be adjusted.
I took her back to Ptuning, and they adjusted the exhaust. Same issue. They looked over things closely and noticed the rear diff moved a lot.
They recommended that I get new diff mounts or collars even. So I poked around and found the Superslow Collars for 110 shipped but were outta stock. Then I checked some more and found these:

I'm sure folks know these existed. A few more bucks, but still cheaper than the full poly mounts. I purchased them.
I did the deed and installed them last night. Very easy to do.
Upon initial push and release of the clutch, Instantly I can feel the difference. The clutch engaged the same but release point was quicker like how it used to be. There is a night and day difference with these on! Started to drive around and sure enough, everything is nice n tight. I can feel the power being put to the wheels quicker as well.
I inspected the mounts, and one of them was busted. It even had fluid leaking out!
These are very much worth the time and money. I can take corners hard and everything is rock solid. It may have made such a dramatic difference for me because of the busted mount. But there is also a noticeable difference in the drivetrain play. There is none from the rear.
Anyone thinking of getting collars, they are most def worth doing. Especially with the car getting older and closer to 100k.
Hope that was worth someones time and interest!
Allan.
