i'm just letting the op know that it's very doable to get low 13's like his gto. he did state that's what he wanted out of the S.
Yeah true. Maybe can be close in numbers from the very best NA s2k times compared to average or normal gto numbers. The 6.0 gto is pretty damn quick. A bolt on sc setup is a good race with one.

I can tell you though, some people have spent thousands of dollars on bolt ons, and only gained 15 hp to the wheel. Bolt ons arent usually a good way to go. Getting a better gear ratio, and nitrous (as you mentioned) is usually the best bang for your buck NA.

If you're near a respectable tuner, you can get pretty decent results with just a tune and an i/h/e. But at that price, you might as well go FI, at least supercharged IMO.

You won't have that off the line feel of the GTO unless you opt for the roots type blower. I think the brand name is "SOT".

A recent SOT dyno thread. This is the closest you're going to get to GTO curves

This is recent and still hold value. Since posting more details on your question, it's easier to point you to the right direction.

Also just FYI, when you do search, you can also click on "sort by date" on the pull down menu on the left side to help narrow down more recent threads.

Besides that, congrats on your new purchase! This is a great forum with great info on a great car. I hope the search function would better serve you in the future

Thanks for all the posts. Its cool to see people getting into it and not just saying search.. I know its gonna take a good combo of bolt ons to make this s2k scream.. Everyone thinks im nuts for getting a s2k and getting rid of my gto. But my first car was a 95 coupe..I love hondas. I want this car to outrun my goat. I just drag race i just need a low 13 high 12 time slip...Bolt on's and Nitrous??? More feedback please

I know that in this case the questions of, "How do I make my S2000 faster?" has been asked a million times so the frustration by former members is understandable.

However, I find it very annoying when people ask questions on this forum and former members simply bash them with, "Search."

True, there are many posts related to the topic, but many of these posts are extremely outdated as our cars started production more than 10 years ago. There are posts about the best exhaust posted in 2005, but new products could be available now.

I am not a member on this forum but I have been on this forum almost everyday since I first got my S2000. And honestly, our search engine is not too effective.

Suzuka was actually kind enough to direct OP in a direction and also give his feedback about the question. I just understand the OP's frustration and I hope members on here would stop simply saying, "Search."
THANKKKKK YOUUUUU!!!!!

I love when people say search and then give an answer. If ypu want your "search"tactic to be effective your better off not answering the op's question.
Back on topic, even with fi the s2000 will never have that raw torque feel that your gto gave unless your willing to spend thousands. I drive my car with basic bolt ons knowing that its a respectable and capable race car if I wanted it to be. Dont worry about being, as fast as v8's most are one dimensional cars that are fast and thats it.

i was looking to buy a GTO before i bought my s2000...the 05 is a nice year too.

someone commented on driving experience vs. track....but it seems this topic is relating to a drag strip considering 1/4 mile times are all that had been mentioned.

gears+FI or gears+nitrous will MOVE.

IIRC, my friend went like 12.8 with an aem v2 and a 75 shot.

Honestly I think u can run like 12.9s to 13.1s with I/E/T.P and maybe some gears. A header wouldn't hurt.

It's not gonna feel like a GTO, though.

No regular bolt on s2ki is running a 12.9 or a 13.1 Just not gonna happen. Unless you strip out tons of weight.

For the best of the best header / exhaust etc, it might even be cheaper to turbo and have more than 15 whp lol
