Default Exhaust gurus chime in!

Hey how's it going, so I have a invidia n1 with ultra quiet resonators which sounds amazing now. What would happen if I cut the canisters off and welded on new tips and a pipe slightly smaller diameter? The smaller pipe diameter should make things quieter right since the original invidia n1 canisters are larger. I understand the canisters job is to filter out some noise, but I want to cut the canister out completely and run different invidia tips.

Exhaust gurus help me find out what would happen if I cut the canisters and run a pipe probably 2.5" for about 6 inches long. Would I lose the deep growl? I don't want it to sound like a loud raspy fart can.

The volume will hardly be lower with a slightly smaller pipe diameter, but the tone will be like a long, raspy, fart. Remember those big meals of Indian or Mexican food you've had? If you hold back and restrict the gas you end up with a high pitched loud squeak, just relax and let it blow and you get those nice deep, low bass notes.

It can go both ways. be quiet or be louder. the greedy tic goes from 70mm to around 63.5 at the duals if i can remember correctly. But the biggest aspect is that it isnt just a pipe. its a resonated canister that has the smaller size pipe. most of the sound must be quieter because of the resonated canister and not the piping diameter. But i think it will be become more raspy and the sound level stay about the same.

Ahh yeah I don't want to sound like those annoying b18 or sohc straight pipe rattle cans. I was hoping to achieve a smaller note with a low tone.
