Default Exhaust options

I installed a ASURA exhaust on my 03 about a month ago, the reviews and posts were kinda miss leading by saying it was a pretty quiet exhaust, lol. Anyways, I got a good deal on it off craigslist for $400 in mint condition, looks very good after polishing the grime off. I love the Oval tips but had a few fitment issues, had to beat in the passenger side tunnel with a ball pin hammer a bit, but finally got it rattle free. sounds amazing when the top is down!

I also put a Invidia 70MM test pipe with it. Now, my question is; how can I reduce the drone? Am I stuck with it, or would putting the cat back on reduce it enough to matter? I'm sure I wouldn't notice a performance difference, would I?

I daily my S2k, and it gets pretty bad unless I'm in 6th gear all the time, lol.

If this is one of the quietest exhausts I can't imagine a Invidia N1!!

You can try adding in resonators if theres room, but your only options other than that are silencers if your exhaust allows you to run them.

I have a skunk2. It's droney and loud but I've adjusted to it and driven it enough to know what rpm ranges are worse at certain speeds.

It's got one resonator already I believe, and no they don't make silencers that I know of.

Is this a pic of your exhaust?

If you have a straight pipe like whats in the pic you could try one of these race muffler.
It should not change the tone at all but it should turn the volume down 5 or 6 db's and with nothing to burn out it will sound the same on year 2 as it did on day one. It might even help with the drone.

Agree with the others, a test pipe will be the least drone option as far as piping. Adding another resonator might help but i dont know how much you want to invest. I have a HKS 75mm and I use a silencer to kill some of the noise and all the drone when I daily drive it and remove it when I want to have fun. Oval tip might make a silencer hard to get in but you might want to try figuring it out. GL
